on target and online?

IT’S ONLINE, BUT IS IT ON TARGET
PART 1
Using the Web Wisely
Thanks to the web, information is easy to find. However it is also easy to post something on line. Anyone can do it.
You’ve probably used an internet to do research for a paper, to help you decide which products to buy, or to form an option about current events. Looking up information in line is the fast and convenient. But when you do online research, It’s important to find sites you can trust. Many websites clam to have the facts, but are full of errors. Others present information in a biased way – they only give one side of an argument. How can you tell a reliable source from an unreliable one? Also, it is critical that you post online only that which is descent and appropriate, never anything pornographic, vulgar, indecent, out of taste, untruthful, or obscene. Post those things that will make a good name for you and your organization, that will promote goodwill and be of benefit to the world.

Motivation

5 Tip for staying motivated
Tips 1-2
To succeed in high school and college, you have to do your best at all times. But sometimes it’s hard to stay motivated, even when you really care about the work you’re doing. Here are five ways to stay on the right track.
1. Focus on high-impact activities
The key to success in school is staying focused on your course work. Make a list to get an overall picture of your work load before you start to tackle any of it. Then, make a plan. Although it’s tempting to do the simplest assignments first, those that make more time and effort to accomplish are probably the ones that you’ll learn the most from.
To determine what your priorities are, rank your assignments in their order of importance. Then rearrange your time and devote more energy toward those that have the greater impact on your course work and grades. For example, even though all homework assignments are important, studying for a midterm exam take priority over writing a paragraph for an English class. As you complete each task, think of it as another step on your way to college success.
2. Create New Challenges
Changing your approach can help you stay interested in what you’re doing. If you’ve been given an assignment similar to one you’ve done in the past, think about it in a different way. If you wrote an essay for a creative writing assignment last year try a poem this time. For book reports, pick a history book, instead of another biography.

Farmer incident

A high school student what put in prison for robbery, kidnapping, and assault. He was sentences to 3 years in prison with bailout. Now he has to wait to peruse a basketball career if anyone will still take him.

It is a travesty that a great player like Farmer has lost a great career that was right in front of him. Being an athlete myself I can feel the pain he is going through and think that this is horrible. However he does deserve this reality check. This will let him know that he has to do the right thing in order to succeed. This event will lead to his growth and allow him to grow up.

Alex Schwazer

Gold medal-winning race walker Alex Schwazer was the first walker to come in at the London Olympics after 3 hours and 39 minutes. Shortly after that he was found using drugs to enhance his performance and be faster. When he was found out he was band from the Olympics. After this incident he said he was proud, because if he was not found out he would have kept using drugs.
Reflection: this is a horrible thing that a great athlete like Schwazer would stoop to performance enhancing drugs just to keep his medal title. I think that people that use performance enhancing drugs are very low and horrible people. However Schwazer did the correct thing and did not deny the fact that he used them. He stepped up and told the truth and was happy. Happy at the fact that he did not have to hold the weight of knowing he did not really achieve his goal.

Marion Jones

An Olympics meddles named Marion Jones won 3 gold metals and 2 bronze in the 2000 Olympics. A few years later she gave up her medals and confessed that she used drugs to enhance he abilities. She is no serving time in jail for her lies.

Reflection:   I believe that it’s horrible that people stoop to the level of performance enhancing drugs to step up their game. Being an athlete myself I find it a disgrace to any game the people do it in. She should be punished for lying and using these drugs. However I think it was the right thing that she stood up and told everyone what she did and how she lied.

Bathroom case

Summary:  In Dayton two grandparents started to lock their 3 year old granddaughter in the bathroom. They kept her locked up for 6 years. The only time she would be let out was for school or if there was company around. The grandparents are now being punished for these crimes and the little girl is out of the bathroom.

Reflection: This event is a very horrible one. To think that the little girls grandparents could do this to her. I believe that these people are very horrible and need to be punished. I think that families need to be checked so things like this never happen. Also that people need think correctly and stop doing bad things.

Tennessee walking horse disaster

In Tennessee they have walking horse tournaments that many people enter. Jackie Mconnell a big name in these tournaments would train horses and win a lot. However it was found out that he would abuse his horses and leave them extremely hurt. It was also found that many other people do this in order just to have a ribbon
Reflection—I found this to be horrible and completely disgusting. How could these people go on acting like this is nothing. I believe that they should stop all the tournaments till this problem is resolved.

tiger woods

summary: tiger's brother is very ill and admires tiger very much. However tiger has not connected with his brother in a very long time. His brother needs help and tiger just ignores him.

Reflection: tiger is a man with a lot on his plate and has very little time . However that does not mean he should ignore his brother that loves him very much and isn't asking for a lot, even more hasn't asked other people have so his brother just wants tiger to say hello and such. Tiger should really reconsider who he really is and help his brother. otherwise he just is a pretentious douche.

student success statement

Student Success Statement
“Light and Darkness can’t occupy the same space at the same time. CTR is light -CTW is dark.”
--Call/Haymore
I agree and disagree with this statement. I believe that they can be together in the same place occupying the same body or idea. However one side becomes more waited than the other and takes over usually. They say you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become evil. I truly believe that this is true because deep inside if you are good there is a dark side that wants to take over and has some input, same with you being dark and bad. Therefore my answer is that this quote is very right, yet supremely wrong.

death of a young girl

Jonna ramos was a 10 year old girl in fifth grade. She and another school girl had a spat over a boy. They decided to fight over him in an alley near by the school. They fought and jonna suffered from blunt force trauma and died.
Refection—I think that this is horrible and stupid thing. I think fighting over a boy is just stupid let alone have violence get involve. Jonna had her whole life ahead of her and she threw it away by agreeing to fight the other girl. I think it’s extremely sad that she threw her life away. Also the guilt the other girl has to deal with. In the end, them fighting did nothing none of them can get the boy now

Arizona nightclub shooting

In tempe Arizona there was a shooting at a night club. The night club was filled with people and shoots were fired. It can only be speculated that a drunk and disorderly person was behind this. Shots went off and a man was shot in the foot. They arrested on person and they are looking for 2 other suspects.
REFLECTION—In my opinion this is a bad thing and gives the “party scene” a bad name. It is okay if you go party, have fun drink but only in moderation. Things can get out of control if you partake in this way too much. My belief is that partying is fun and events like this are horrible. The person who did this shooting should be imprisoned. If you want to avoid situations like this you simply need to be right stay away from this or do this in moderation and not overdue the partying.
