These three keys can very well help anyone. It is very true these three actions can make sure you stay on the path you desire. I remember a time when my friend want to not do a project we had to do and tried to convince me to just chill out. However I had the courage to say no, do the truthful thing, and chose the right and do the project. 

central oregon v. central washington

During this conference softball game sportsmanship and loyalty were shown greatly. a player on central Washington tor her ACL on her first ever home-run ball. She was left on the floor with her team unable to help her. Two players for Oregon however got up and helped her across the bases because she made the home run. I found this very touching because they could have not helped and won the game. However they knew it was the right and loyal thing for the game to help Sara cross the diamond. I think that this should carry on to every aspect in life, and show people the true meaning of sportsmanship. 

Tennessee walking horse disaster

In Tennessee they have walking horse tournaments that many people enter. Jackie Mconnell a big name in these tournaments would train horses and win a lot. However it was found out that he would abuse his horses and leave them extremely hurt. It was also found that many other people do this in order just to have a ribbon
Reflection—I found this to be horrible and completely disgusting. How could these people go on acting like this is nothing. I believe that they should stop all the tournaments till this problem is resolved.

Clarke is truly right when he says this. Many people go out and try to seek happiness and are always chasing its tail. However if just be a kind heartted person or do what you know is right you will no longer chase its tail. Whenever you see someone do something good they usually have a smile. When you do the right thing happiness will soon follow you. The only way to gain happiness is to go out and get it, but not by chasing it from behind. You need to jump in front and help others gain happiness do the right things and your happiness will surely come up and embody you.

Part 2

My test study method: I have different strategies for different types of tests or subjects. For me, any type of math is exceptionally difficult so I had to spend extra time on that. I would go back through the homework problems focusing on the problems that I had extra difficult on. Many times I would ask the teacher for an additional study materials they could provide. If it was a class that required memorization or applying concepts I would create a sort of study guide for myself many times focusing on what were key focal points in the class. If I knew there were going to be essays I would try to take the terms and apply them to an example or create different question on the concepts focused on throughout the semester.

My time management secret: I always carry a planner with me. I even use different color highlighters to show what each event on my calendar is for. For example, pink is personal, yellow is school, orange is work, blue is for appointments, and green is for my sorority. Although I use white-out frequently, I can see in bright yellow that if I have that project for finance due on Tuesday, I need to start working on it on [the previous] Wednesday so I can just get it done. My friends have always been amazed at how early I get things accomplished but that is really all I do

Part 1

Time management became a key factor in my study skills for college. In high school, there were times I was able to study for an hour or two the night before a test and get away with it. This was not the case in college. I made sure in college I was prepared for each class. Sometimes that meant writing out the terms for the chapter we read (even if when it isn’t required) to better understand them. That way when the midterm or test comes around I was able to understand what I was studying. I started taking excellent notes in class in college. I may have done this in high school, but in college I started typing up the notes after class. This helped me remember what I just went over in class then when I had a test one week later I was more likely to remember then as well.

My overall study method: structure. One thing I learned was I had to adapt or change my study method according to the class. I couldn’t study for religion class the same way I studied for a finance class. But making sure I had enough time to study for each class--even if it meant carrying a planner with me at all times was a big part of my success.

summary: tiger's brother is very ill and admires tiger very much. However tiger has not connected with his brother in a very long time. His brother needs help and tiger just ignores him.  

Reflection: tiger is a man with a lot on his plate and has very little time . However that does not mean he should ignore his brother that loves him very much and isn't asking for a lot, even more hasn't asked other people have so his brother just wants tiger to say hello and such. Tiger should really reconsider who he really is and help his brother. otherwise he just is a pretentious douche.

i agree with this quote it is very much correct. this life you have passes once so you need to live it to its fullest. That mean do what you think is right and do what you can do to help others. Not as a obligation, not as a way to seek for savior in a religious way, but because it is right. 

winter break

winter break was great for me i was able to just stop and relax. I would just sleep and read. I was able to have much fun and really get to have time to myself.

 over the the past 3 weeks my agenda was wake up at 1030 get dressed eat some fruit then start reading manga. then i would read till around 2 then eat more fruit and some type of protein. then i would keep reading till 6 o'clock in the morning. That was basically my everyday life. i spent most of it reading on this web site  http://www.mangahere.com/

i also watch some anime but mainly i just read the three weeks. However something amazing happened i join a traveling allstar lacrosse team. i just started and i am planning to work hard and have as much fun as possible and kick total ass. I also got very into Japanese culture and find it awesome. now i am going to become fluent in Japanese and plan on going there all this was accomplished or decided because of the last three weeks.

Laura B.‘s Academic success story
In high  school I was one of the good students who didn’t really have to study to be a good student. The information that I took for notes in class usually sunk in enough for me to be able to get by on the test by simply reviewing the materials just before the class began. I wasn’t that I didn’t try, I had a 4.0 all throughout high school, but I never really had to put forth much of an effort to get the results that I wanted to see. In college however, that changed. Not only did I start studying and reading the book, but I began to understand that the little tiny facts were just as important as the general concept.

My overall study method: I do the reading that is required for the classes, and I try to keep up. If I do fall behind, I usually use that reading that I did not get to as an additional study aid.  I take good notes in class and actually attend every class that I can. Sometimes, with volleyball, its tough because we are on the road a lot, but if I do miss class because of volleyball I make sure that I get that notes from another student in the class. Also, for a subject such as chemistry, I do practice problems to help me understand what the material means.

Andrea packer anticipates graduating with a B.A. in education from Catawba in December 2011 and then enrolling in the Master of Arts in Teaching program from Salem College, also offered on the Davison Campus. Packer spends her days on the Davison Campus working 29 hours a week as teaching assistant for instructors in the DCCC Early Childhood Education program.

“Not only did receiving this scholarship make me study harder and be the best I could be, but it also allowed me to graduate in May 2010 with my associate degree totally paid for,” she said. “I couldn’t believe I had my first degree, and I was debt free. What a wonderful blessing!”

If students work hard during high school, complete all assignments on time, and demonstrate a bright, positive attitude toward school, learning, and other people, then they can be highly successful as a high school and qualify for academic scholarship also. All they need to do is put in the time, study time. All the hard work and effort during high school will definitely pay off. They will be rewarded for their hard work. But if they just mess around during their high school years and neglect their studies, use drugs, mistreat others, then they can expect to fall short of what they could have been their reward of scholarship and other opportunities, and they will suffer in the short and long term. Andrea packer-without the prestigious DCCC presidential scholarship she won in 2008, Adrea Packer, a 2010 DCCC honor graduate, says she doubts she would already be pursuing her baccalaureate degree from Catawba college. “I cannot say thank you enough to whomever paid for my education, and I am going to continue to do my best to make them happy that they invested in me,” she said.

Since august 2010, packer, 20, has been working toward her bachelor’s degree in the early childhood education from Catawba College, and she doesn’t have to leave DCCC’s Davidson campus to do so. She said she likes the convenience of leaving her teaching assistant’s job in one DCCC building and walking only one step to her evening Catawba classes where she is taking history, statistics and education courses

Porter said she was impressed at everything Noah accomplish including earnings several professional certifications and still making time to tutor other in the information technology area. “Shane Noah helps other students troubleshoot software and hardware issues not only in networking classes but other information technology courses while maintaining a positive, professional attitude. He goes above and beyond the minimum requirements of an assignments while being a full-time student.”

       Noah earned professional certifications in A+, NET+ and security+ in 2010-2011 and will receive his CCNA certification in the summer. In addition, he implemented the deployment of windows 7 using Server 2008 in the DCCC computer lab without the help of instructors. He also documented the procedure with step-by-step video and written instructions to help others get through the procedure.

Shane Noah is a full-time college student, scholarship recipient, volunteer tutor, Dean’s list student every semester, husband and father. All these titles accurately describe Shane Noah, a high-achieving May 2011 DCCC graduation candidate majoring in Networking Technology.

Noah, who is from high point, plans to continue his higher education at East Carolina University upon graduation from DCCC. His career goal is to become a corporate network administrator. He won the North Carolina Computer Instructor’s Association Scholarship after he was nominated by Ann Porter, his DCCC instructor.

Kimani Hunt, 19, a dean’s list student at Davidson county community college, is a standout 6’5” player on the DCCC storm basketball team who serves as a role model for other students both on and off the court. With a 3.692 grade point average for the fall 2010 semester and a cumulative basketball point total of 765 as of Feb. 18h, hunt’s academic excellence and athletic abilities of recruiters from university of northwestern Ohio who offered him a full scholarship there to play basketball. Named to the 1^st team ALL Freshmen in 2009-2010, hunt served on the 2009-2010 Region X and District H Championship teams, and he played with the storm in last year’s 2010 NJCAA National Championship tournament.. “kimani hunt has been a leader for us the last few years both on and off the court,” said DCCC storm head coach Matt Ridge. “His high standard of excellence has helped us win many games, but it’s also helped him achieve a lot of success in the classroom, and we are certainly proud of him.” Ken kirk, DCCC’s director of athletics and wellness, agrees. “Kimani is a kind and considerate student athlete. He helps tutor other players who look up to him as an academic leader, he communicates well with other students as well as the storm fans, and he represents DCCC so well wherever he goes.” Hunt graduated from riverside high school in Durham before enrolling at DCCC. Part 1

Katie Watkins, a standout storm volleyball player for two years, now spends her free time studying to be a nurse at DCCC where she say she applies some of the concepts she learned on the court.

“Just like volleyball, nursing can be tough,” said Watkins, a 21-years-old who works in teams with her classmates in problem-based nursing exercises. “I learned that everyone has different strengths and brings something different to the table. I also learned that we have to respect each other.”

Watkins is a May 2012 candidate to receive her Associate Degree in Nursing. She hopes to pursue her B.S.N. at Winston-Salem state University and eventually get her master’s degree in nursing.

Setting educational goals and working hard to achieve them brings a great feeling of accomplishment. It builds self-esteem, and increases self-confidence. Education opens up many doors of opportunity that normally would not open up for people.
